Zuken Acquires Alfatech Inc. as a Subsidiary
Zuken Inc. (Yokohama, Japan; President and Representative Director: Makoto Kaneko; hereafter, “Zuken”) has acquired whole ownership of stock issued by Alfatech Inc. (Osaka, Japan; President and CEO: Yukio Hosokawa; hereafter “Alfatech”), establishing it as a wholly owned subsidiary.
Alfatech provides a wide range of product solutions and services to customers in the mechatronics field among others, including the development, sale and support of its proprietary CAD application package for the electrical industry, ACAD-DENKI, and the sale and customization of 2D/3D general-purpose CAD applications.
The acquisition of Alfatech as a subsidiary – one that has an extended history servicing control panel manufacturers that serve as a core component in the design and manufacture of Japan’s industrial machinery and production facilities – has provided Zuken with a broad customer base within the mechatronics field stretching from major manufacturers to their suppliers. Zuken aims to combine its “E3. series” electrical wire harness design software and data management products with Alfatech products to provide this customer base with further optimized solutions’ packages both up and down the supply chain.
Backed by Zuken’s robust financial base and its experience in engineering software development, Alfatech will look to making inroads into the BIM (Building Information Modeling) market as a new means of applying 3D modeling technology to the field of architecture where demand is set to boom. In addition to this, Alfatech will look to further building on its product development and support in the mechatronics field. Further, the company is currently evaluating the potential to expand sales of its products, which had previously been limited to the Japanese market, to overseas markets as well by leveraging Zuken’s overseas sales and support channels.
Both companies plan to collaborate in a broad range of areas in terms of product development, sales and support in an aim to provide product solutions and services optimized for each individual customer in a timely manner.
While this acquisition is expected to slightly affect Zuken’s business performance for the term ending March 2018, we will continue to announce any further matters that require public notification as promptly as possible.
*While the sale and support services for Alfatech products will not change for the foreseeable future, use the following contact details to place any further inquiries regarding this matter.
